Germán Frers

Renowned Argentine designer Germán Frers comes from a long line of sailors and naval architects based in Buenos Aires. Frers launched his career at Sparkman & Stephens’ New York offices before returning to Buenos Aires in 1970 to take over the family business established by his father in 1928.
Frers first made his name in the racing world with a number of successful Admiral’s Cup and maxi offshore designs before moving on to series designs for Nautor’s Swan and the luxury performance cruising market. His design credits in the Royal Huisman portfolio include Belle Fontaine, Helisara, the Whitbread Round the World Race winner Flyer II, Huaso, Metolius, Foftein, Hyperion and Unfurled.
