All 600+ participants agreed that the 2008 St Barths Bucket outshone all previous events - notwithstanding the great success of every previous edition! Perfect tradewind sailing conditions, fine weather, great hospitality and a surprise gig by Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band made for a storming Saturday night party.
For the owners and crew of Gliss, the colourful, high performance 32m sloop designed by Philippe Briand and built by Royal Huisman, things were better still. In the closest, most exuberant and competitive racing of any Bucket yet, Gliss performed consistently well, including a first place in Race 1, to achieve 2nd in Class and 3rd in the overall Fleet.
