Royal Huisman

Refits

Royal Huisman is able to draw on the best of both worlds in meeting owners’ refit requirements. Not only does the yard have a dedicated refit hall and team, it can also draw upon all the specialist skills and resources of the yard’s wider new build capability.

As a result the menu of work that can be undertaken is almost limitless, from the “cosmetics” of a new paint job and refurbished bright-work to an interior re-build with new general arrangement, systems and propulsion, to a hull extension, new rig and sail management system.

Recently Royal Huisman completed the huisfit program of the 33m/107’ sportfisherman Karyatis and the 41m/133’ sailing ketch William Tai. In preparation for a successful East to West transit of the famed North West Passage in the late summer of 2011 the motor yacht Arcadia visited Holland to also take advantage of Royal Huisman’s huisfit program (service work, upgrades to systems and minor cosmetic repairs).

Currently the 93m/307ft three-masted schooner EOS and the 40m/132ft motor yacht Be Mine are also undergoing the huisfit program. The refit of EOS is being undertaken under cover at the nearby seaport of Harlingen, whilst Be Mine, also undercover is at the yard in Vollenhove.

The 42m/143’ Cyclos III (Ron Holland / Andrew Winch, 1990) is back to Vollenhove after some 400,000 miles of ocean voyaging to justify a well earned cosmetic facelift and update on her extensively tested systems.
