The 83-foot Ebb Tide was completed in 1987 for another client who, like Whirlwind's Noel Lister, wanted to move up from a large Swan, and who enjoyed sailing shorthanded. Ebb Tide, designed by Sparkman & Stephens with an impressively masculine interior by Pieter Beeldsnijder, is simply a grand yacht, powerful in shape for good offshore sailing qualities and as comfortable below as possible.
When the owner of Juliet bought her a few years ago, while his boat was nearing construction, he brought her back to the yard for some interior revisions by PB Design, and continued to use her as a "training boat" in preparation for taking Juliet offshore. The revisions worked exceedingly well.
