‘Astonishment’ perhaps best describes the press reaction during the reception onboard following her launch in 2003:

“…this truly spirited sailing superyacht … is reminiscent of a bygone era where elegant living was the norm.

Boat International

“the perfect interpretation of a classic yacht”

Translation from Boote Exclusiv

Maria Cattiva’s interior fit out and detailed joinery work represented the most complicated project for the shipyard’s cabinetmakers to produce at the time of her build. Coupled with her sleek, low volume classic hull form, the shipyard team was (and obviously still is) very proud of its accomplishment. With the opportunity to step back and see the full extent of her profile, one can fully appreciate her sweeping grace and fine wine glass stern. The slight tumble in her hull moves aft and with artistic precision leads into the trademark stern of naval architect Bruce King.

During her early sailing trials, it was soon apparent that this was a fast powerfully rigged sailing machine. Maria Cattiva features a carbon rig by sister company Rondal, a winged keel configuration and gentle aft sections that leave little to no perceptible wake as she sails along at speeds equalling true wind.
