There is an ongoing initiative for the efficient recycling of plastic and many municipalities in the Netherlands no longer collect plastic separately. Do you ever wonder how these things came about?

“How Do They Do It?” is a television series produced for Discovery Channel and its streaming service Discovery+. The popular TV series is broadcast throughout the world on various Discovery-owned networks. A new series for the Dutch audience is focused on various innovative and advanced production processes. From flying cars to vege-burgers and from plastic recycling to superyachts. For instance, the producers of the show visited the largest tulip and bulb grower in the Netherlands, where nearly the entire process from the land to the auction is automated. And they had the same hands-on approach with other topics of flying cars, vege-burgers and recycling.

The only company from the Dutch superyacht sector that has been invited to participate in the show is the team from Royal Huisman.  Royal Huisman is honored to be able to present its unique newbuild facilities in one of the show’s most entertaining and informative episodes  where the company provided an overview of its 30,000 sqm / 322.900 sqft shipyard in Vollenhove and all that happens within the facility.

Capacity-wise, the shipyard is now more flexible than ever before in terms of its range and capabilities. Royal Huisman works in close collaboration with a group of highly selective co-makers. These partnering companies work closely with the shipyard’s team in the heart of the Dutch maritime services cluster.

Stills from the documentary about the shipyard can be found on this page. See the full Discovery Channel video (in Dutch) at werkenbijroyalhuismangroep.com [link]
